7 ATTENDEES Anvil, Gerald, Holt, Kai, Lhupo, Maurice, Teancum
Flamerule 14, 1486 DR
Maurice’s bomb sails and lands true, exploding violently in the target room. But alas, the tripwire he triggered dropped the ceiling down on his head burying him in the rubble…except for his little gnomish hand, sticking out, which went unnoticed by Teancum who was catching up and preparing for a tussle. Anvil moves to guard the door shielding allies (with his tower shield) so they can assist Maurice. Kai the bear uses his considerable strength to remove rubble from atop Maurice. Maurice also helps (himself) pushing several pebbles out of the way. Eventually he is freed, and fortunately he’s okay…except for his eyeball. Maurice had strained so hard helping Kai with the rumble, moving those pebbles, that one of his eyeballs popped out. Thinking quickly, he doused it in Dwarven Ale and popped it back in. He does have a slight scar on the outside corner of that eye, but no other ill affects…except he’s addicted to Dwarven Ale now—but not to drink it, rather for its myriad of functional tinkering and medicinal uses.
Meanwhile a battle rages against a couple wolves, several goblins, and Lhupo the bugbear. Lhupo barks orders at his troops trying to gain a tactical advantage. Anvil has a heated exchange in the doorway with the wolves, and receives a couple of wounds from goblin arrows that get through his defense. One arrow lodges deep in his forearm, but he manages to shrug off the pain and continue to battle. Gerald fires his bow into the room, past Anvil, scoring several hits breaking up the horde of goblins starting to demoralized them. Holt casts Shatter into the room wounding and further undermining their confidence.
Teancum and Kai take flanking maneuvers entering the room by an alternative route. Teancum takes some damage in the process. The party then uses their momentum to press into the room on two fronts working together as teammates to crush these foul enemies. Kai casts a timely Thunderwave shoving the monster into the back corner, breaking their morale. And then as a final nail in the coffin, Teancum, in the fever of the battle and in an act of bravado, charges and does a hobbit sized parkour off the wall over a goblin and slays Lhupo. He then turns and finishes the goblin he hopped over. The remaining two goblins surrender and are bound for interrogation.
